Step 6: crumple kraft glassine in your hand breaking through the coating of the paper and creating a great texture effect. ![]() check out the color variations i got – one has terra cotta w/gold, and the other lettuce w/gold. Step 5: the coolest part is this inked glassine dries almost immediately so there is no need for a heat tool. ![]() ![]() you can reapply any necessary inks or colors until the desired look is achieved. Step 4: stamp inked tool repeatedly over kraft glassine until covered with color. Step 3: apply a squeeze of blending solution over ink and mixative on tool. Step 2: apply several drops of a color of adirondack alcohol ink to ink tool around mixative. shake metallic mixative and apply several drops on to felt. Step 1: apply a piece of felt to ink applicator tool. this unique surface is perfect for working with alcohol inks to create this amazing effect… Start off with a sheet of kraft glassine. Supplies: kraft glassine, adirondack alcohol inks/terra cotta/lettuce, metallic mixative/gold, blending solution, ink applicator tool, distress ink/walnut stain, tattered leaves die cut *don't forget these other kraft glassine ideas i posted on the blog too… this would be a great technique to create leaves for garland, table decor, and a variety of other ways to adorn your home – just in time don't you think?…enjoy…t!m one of the great things about kraft glassine is it's ability to maintain it's shape when you crumple it up so you can create dimensional elements. my friend wendy did a cool technique using snowcap mixatives on glassine a while back on her blog, but this one has a completely different effect on the kraft glassine. so i wanted to share this cool technique using alcohol inks and metallic mixatives on kraft glassine (since after all, glassine is a slick surface right?). so i thought what better way to enjoy the fall season than to bring a little indoors the crafty way. Well bloggers it's almost monday and thanksgiving is just days away.
